The Magnolia Education Foundation is celebrating 25 years of supporting students and educators, a momentous milestone for Magnolia ISD. This foundation was originally founded in 2001 and has been responsible for providing grants and scholarships for classrooms, students and educators that fall out of the districts already established programs.
The Magnolia Education Foundation recognizes students for lots of things but especially their impact on the Magnolia community. The Impact Scholarship is awarded to students who seek out to make a difference in the community. Since 2022, the foundation has awarded over $22,000 in scholarships to students across the district. Along with annual teacher grants that range from $5,000-$10,000.
According to a recent Community Impact article, Current President of the Foundation, Becca Henry, who was a former Magnolia West High School secretary says that the drive for the foundation is her "Belief in public education” as she has seen it all from every angle and understands the needs of students and teachers alike. She says the things that have really changed the district is the exponential growth over the last five years. This growth has brought in more opportunities for the foundation to start new programs and initiatives.
To celebrate this amazing milestone, they will be hosting a fundraising event. The event will be a Alumni casino night on September 12th at the Magnolia Event Center for Alumni and Magnolia locals to come out and support the foundation. There will be a live DJ, drinks available for purchase and a chance to play with professional dealers.
