Magnolia Parkway Junior High School Teacher, Amy Medina, has been named the recipient of 2025-26 National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Outstanding Theatre Educator Award. This historic honor comes as the first year junior high and middle school level educators were included for this prestigious award.
The National Federation of State High School Associations has recognized teachers for their outstanding efforts in speech, debate and music since the 1980’s. Mrs. Medina has spent years teaching performing arts and has created a space for her students to discover their voices and build lifelong confidence.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Medina also serves as a University Interscholastic League (UIL) Contest Manager and Advisory Board member, where she directly helps shape statewide theatre policies. She is also involved in the Texas Educational Theatre Association, where she helps with leadership workshops and the states educational reading lists.
